Romanian Individual Chess Championships for Men and Women started in Olanesti on 2nd April.
The Championships are organized by Romanian Chess Federation and Chess Club Tinerii Maestrii Bucuresti.
Both Championships are played as Swiss events in 9 rounds.
Top seeds in Men’s tournament are GMs Constantin Lupulescu (2624), Mircea Parligras (2586) and Mihail Marin (2584), while in Women’s tournament top ranked players are IMs Corina Peptan (2421), Irina Bulmaga (2366) and Cristina Foisor (2328).
So far 4 rounds are played and in Men’s section FM Andrei-Theodor Dolana (2346) and Mircea Parligras (2586) are in the lead with maximum score, while in Women’s event WGM Elena-Luminita Cosma (2319) is in the sole lead with 3.5 points.
