Montenegro Chess Federation organizes the International Chess Open Tournament Cetinje 2016, from 4 to 10 May 2016, on the occasion of 10 years of renewal of the independence of Montenegro.
The tournament will be held in the Grand Hotel (***), once the best hotel in Montenegro, which is located between two city parks, in the immediate vicinity of the historic core of Cetinje, the old capital of Montenegro – the city museum. Cetinje is only 30 km from Budva, the center of Montenegro’s tourism, and 30 km from the capital Podgorica. The airports Tivat (49km) and Podgorica (42km) are nearby.
The tournament will be played according to 9-round Swiss System, computer pairing, with the time control 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move. The registrations for the tournament must be received no later than 14:00 Friday, May 4.
The total prize fund of the event is 6.750 EUR, including regular prizes (5.000 EUR) and special prizes. The first prize is 1.250 EUR.
