The 14 European Youth Rapid & Blitz Championship 2014 was officially opened at Meriton Grand Conference & Spa Hotel in Tallinn/Estonia.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Estonian Chess Federation, Mr. Andrei Korobeinik, Deputy President of the European Chess Uinon, Mr. Ion Dobronauteanu and speaker of the Estonian Parliament, Mr. Eiki Nestor.
298 young chess players from 13 European countries will compete in the next five days within 5 different events:
14th Individual European Championship in Rapid
13th European Rapid Cup – Rapid Superfinal
14th Team European Championships in Rapid
14th Individual European Championships in Blitz and
13th European Championship in Solving Chess Problems
The organizer of the Championship is Estonian Chess Federation in cooperation with the European Chess Union.
The top games will be broadcast live at the official website of the Championship.
