European Senior Team Chess Championship 2017 starts tomorrow in Novi Sad/Serbia.
The event takes place in the tourist settlement “Ribarsko ostrvo” in Novi Sad from 24th June to 4th July. The event consist of 2 categories: 50+ (for players born 1967 or earlier) and 65+ (for players who were born in the year 1953 or earlier). 16 teams registered for the Championship and will be playing 9 rounds according to the Swiss system with time control 90 minutes for 40 moves + 30 min. for the rest of the game + 30 seconds increment for every move starting from move one.
The total prize fund of the event is 6000 euros. Winning teams will be awarded with trophies and medals and the best individuals of each board will get additional prizes (cups and medals).
The event is organized by Serbian Chess Federation under the auspices of European Chess Union.
