Manuel Aeschlimann, Mayor of Asnières, Vice-president of the Metropole Grand Paris sent a welcoming message to players and teams:
It is with great pride that we welcome you to Asnières for this latest edition of the European Corporate Chess Championship. For several years now, our town has distinguished itself in the world of chess through the exceptional performances, on the national and international scenes, of the Asnières Le Grand Echiquier chess club. The club has carried our city’s colors high, winning the French Cup four times in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023 – and being crowned France Champion in 2023. On the European stage, it also made its mark, finishing 4th in the European Club Cup in 2022, 7th in 2023, not to mention our women’s team ending up as runner-up in the French Women’s Championship. Asnières also had the honor of hosting the first edition of the European Corporate Chess Championship in 2017, testifying to its attractiveness in the chess world. Today, I’m particularly pleased to welcome you to our town hall’s sumptuous marriage hall, for moments of competition and sharing between players from all over Europe. I wish you all an unforgettable experience here in Asnières, marked by the intensity of the games and the richness of the exchanges.
