The 2024 European Corporate Chess Championship concluded yesterday in Asnieres sur Seine, Paris, France.
The Closing ceremony of the event took place yesterday evening in the City venue of Asnieres sur Seine with the attendance of the Mayor of Asnieres Mr. Manuel Aeschlimann, Deputy Mayor of Asnieres Mr. Frederic Sitbon, ECU Secretary General Mr. Theodoros Tsorbatzoglou, Chairman of the ECU Social Commission Mr. Franck Droin, Vice President of the French Chess Federation Mrs. Laurie Delorme, Tournament Director Mr. Jean-Claude Moingt, and other representatives of the French Chess Federation.
After nine played rounds, Europe Echecs clinched gold with the score of 25 match points. After a loss in the third round, Europe Echecs scored six consecutive team victories to emerge as the sole Winner of the event.
Playing against Probit in the last round, the team Leonard took a narrow 2.5-1.5 victory for the final score of 24 match points which was enough for clear second place and silver medals.
PwC Poland and KPMG scored 22 match points each to tie for bronze and the tiebreak criteria (higher number of wins) determined the Winner. Since PwC Poland had 6 match victories and KPMG scored 5 match victories, the Polish team won bronze.
The best-ranked companies in Consulting, Industry, Sport Tourism, Finance, Energy and Digital company received special awards. The best-ranked Consulting company in the event was KPMG, the best-ranked Industry company was Agrofert, Chateau Montaiguillon was the best-ranked company of Sport Tourism, the best-ranked Finance company was Greco, the best Energy Company came Edvance, and the best-ranked Digital company was Google.
