  •  The European Team Chess Championship 2015, will take place in Reykjavik, Iceland from 12th to 22th November. (Annex 4)

The 1st ECU Congress and the annual ECU General Assembly 2015 will take place from 7 (arrival) to 11 (departure) October 2015 in Bar, Montenegro. Proposals from Members to be included in the agenda for the General Assembly must reach the Secretary General not later than three months before the beginning of the General Assembly.

We note that the Icelandic Chess Federation informed the ECU Board, during the meeting in Jerusalem that is very difficult to organize the annual ECU General Assembly 2015 because such obligation was not included in the contract they have signed. It would be impossible to find additional available rooms (than those booked for the European Teams Championship) in reasonable prices. ECU President was authorized to find a new venue, with the best possible conditions for ECU Board, ECU Commissions and delegates.

The 1st ECU Congress 2015 in Montenegro includes:
a. The annual ECU General Assembly (10 October 2015)
b. The ECU Board meeting
c. The ECU Events Commission Meeting
d. The ECU Women’s Commission Meeting
e. The ECU Arbiters Council Meeting
f. The ECU Constitutional Committee Meeting

The ECU Educational Commission meeting will take place in Porec, Croatia from 24th to 27th of September 2015. The detailed program for all meetings will be published on time. The ECU Commissions will be informed about the conditions for their members.

The deadline for bids for the 2017 European Championship is 1st July 2015. Attached you will find the detailed announcement for the bidding procedure (annex5).

The bid form is on (annex6).

Notice:

ECU will propose to the coming ECU General Assembly the connection of the European Women’s Individual Championship with the subsequent year organization of the European Youth Championship. Such proposal is related with the ECU policy to support Women competitions and attract sponsors and organisers for the women events.

A combined proposal for the European Women Individual Chess Championship 2016 and the European Youth Chess Championship 2017 can be evaluated and decided through the current valid ECU tournament regulations.

For the next cycle of ECU events, this combined proposal may be set up by the tournament regulations.

The next ECU Board meeting will take place from 11th to 14th June 2015 in Bucharest, Romania.

With kind regards,
Theodoros Tsorbatzoglou
ECU Secretary General
