The third event of the Grand Chess Tour 2023 series, the SuperUnited Rapid & Blitz Croatia, takes place in Zagreb from 3-10 July.
It is a 10-player round-robin tournament with 9 rounds in the rapid portion, and 18 rounds in the blitz portion of the event. Five-time World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen headlines the field which includes Ian Nepomniachthi, Fabiano Caruana, Alireza Firouzja, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Richard Rapport, Viswanathan Anand, Dommaraju Gukesh, Ivan Saric and Constantin Lupulescu.
The total prize fund of the event is $175.000, with $40.000 reserved for the Winner of the event.
Simultaneously with the tournament, the Kasparov Chess Foundation with the European Chess Union Trainers Commission and European Chess Academy organise the first European conference for chess trainers. Detailed information about the Conference can be found here.
