The 2021 European Small Nations Team Chess Championship concluded yesterday in Sliema, Malta with awarding ceremony of the Winners and medalists.
The ECU President Mr. Zurab Azmaiparashvili joined the Closing ceremony of the event and awarded the Medalists.
The team of Faroe Islands convincingly won the event. With score of 17 match points, 8 team victories and only one draw, Faroe Islands became the sole Winner of the event.
The last round decided the medalists of the event, as Andorra had a direct encounter with Cyprus. With a 3-1 victory Andorra secured silver medal scoring 14 match points.
Teams of Monaco and Cyprus tied for third place with 13 match points each, but board points decided that bronze goes to Monaco (24.5 board points) while Cyprus finished the event on the fourth position (23 board points).
