The European Chess Union and the Georgian Chess Federation are honored to invite ECU member federations to participate in 25th European Women’s Chess Championship. The event will be held in Batumi from 24 of May (arrival day) to 6 of June (departure day).
The European Women’s Chess Championship 2026 will be played in 11 rounds, swiss system, with the time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves, plus 30 minutes until the end of the game, with 30-second increment for each move, starting from the move one.
The European Women’s Chess Championship 2026 is part of the FIDE Women’s World Chess Championship cycle and gives qualification spots for the FIDE Women World Cup. According to the decision of the ECU at least 10 players(*) will qualify. (*Under the current FIDE Women World Cup regulations, FIDE is the only body responsible for rules of the FIDE Women World Cup qualification spots.)
The total prize fund of the Championship will be 60.000 EUR, with 10.000 EUR reserved for the Winner of the event.
The Official hotel of the event will be *****Euphoria Hotel Batumi, and the playing venue of the event will be located within the Hotel complex.
The event is open to all female players representing federations listed as the ECU members, without rating or title limitations. Each national federation member of the ECU has the right to register unlimited women players. In order to ensure proper tournament standards, ECU member federations must fully complete the excel registration form (see on the website) and send it back to the contact person before the registration deadline – April 10th, 2026. Incomplete registrations will not be accepted.
