European Senior Team Chess Championship 2021 will take place from 29th August -8th September in Prague, Czech Republic.
The event will be played in 2 age categories: 50+ and 65+, and open and women sections will be awarded separately. Both sections will be played in 9 rounds, Swiss system, with time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves+ 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per each move, starting from the move one.
The European Senior Team Chess Championship is open to all players, regardless of rating and title, who reach their age of 50 and 65 by 31st December 2021 and represent National Chess Federations which are members of FIDE. Teams can register only through their national chess federations. There is no limit in the number of teams per federation (club teams, city teams, regional teams, national teams, etc. may start in the championship, there is no limitation). There is only one limitation – all team players must be members of the same European chess federation (for example CZE).
Organisers have secured various accommodation packages for the teams and prepared also a parallel cultural program for the participants.
The registration deadline is August 15th, 2021.
Due to anti-epidemic measures all teams are obliged to be accommodated in the official hotel-venue. The official venue and the hotel during the event will be Hotel Don Giovanni.
Upon arrival to the tournament, all participants, referees and staff (including Czech citizens) must present to the Organising Committee a certificate of full vaccination or a 72h negative PCR test for Covid19.
The total prize fund of the event is 6.000 EUR and material prizes for individual board winners.
