The 2025 European Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships will take place from November 27th to December 1st at *****Hotel Emerald in Prishtina, Kosovo.
European Rapid Chess Championship 2025 will be the first on the schedule, taking place on 28th and 29th of November. The Championship will be played according to the Swiss system, in
11 rounds with the time control 15 minutes game + 10 seconds per move starting from the first
move.
The European Blitz Chess Championship 2025 will be played on 30th of November, with 13 single rounds, swiss system, and time control of 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment for each move, starting from the move one.
The Championship is open to all players representing Chess Federations which are ECU members
(FIDE zones 1.1. to 1.10), regardless of their title and rating. There is no limit to the number of participants per federation.
Tournament schedule:
The total prize fund of the event will be 65.000 EUR, with 40.000 EUR in prizes for the Rapid Championship and 25.000 EUR in prizes for the Blitz Championship.
The tournament venue and the official hotel of the Championship is *****Emerald Hotel.
