Following the ECU Board meeting on 30 April, the ECU Board met via teleconference on 8 May 2026.
Main information and decisions:
The ECU Board approved the verification report of the ECU Legal adviser Mr. Marco Biagioli confirming the validity of all candidacies for ECU elections received by 17th of April and published on 20th of April 2026. https://www.europechess.org/ecu-elections-2026/

Additionally, concerning the official complaint of Mr Bachar Kouatly to the FIDE Ethics and Disciplinary Commission which was copied to ECU, this is noted and the ECU will follow closely the procedures at the EDC.
