Three rounds played at the European School Chess Championship 2024

The European School Chess Championship 2024 is underway in Limerick, Ireland, with nearly 200 participants coming from 17 European federations.

Three rounds have already been played over six age categories: U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17, open and girls sections separately.

Scoring perfect 3/3 points, Omer Taha Dede (TUR) and Amandeep Singh (ENG) co-lead in he U7 section, while five players tie for the top in the GU7 category with the score of 2 points each: Miray Akindi (TUR), Goksu Yildiz (TUR), Maria-Ioana Ramureanu (ROU, 1609), Ingibjorg Loa Hedinsdottir (ISL), and Kumsal Islek (TUR).

Ata Peray (TUR, 1623) emerged as the sole leader in the U9 category scoring 3 points, and Irmak Keser (TUR, 1545) leads the GU9 section with the same score.

Ege Oz (TUR, 1754) and Konstantinos Ioannidis (GRE, 1660) score 3 points in the U11 section, and Ester Galmidi (ISR, 1461) and Zeynep Sonmez (TUR, 1561) co-lead in the GU11 category with perfect 3/3 score.

In the U13 section, Gorkem Unsal (TUR, 1969) and Rock Yu (ENG, 1910) emerged as the leaders scoring 3 points, while Zumral Yazici (TUR, 1651) emerged as the sole leader in the GU13 category.

Efe Yalcinkaya (TUR, 2026) scores 3 points to be in the sole lead of the U15 category, while Eylul Ceren Gedik (TUR, 1792) and Pelin Seyhan (TUR, 1719) co-lead in the GU15 section with the score of 2 points each.

IM Adar Tarhan (TUR, 2457) is the sole leader of the U17 category with the score of 3 points, and WCM Ecrin Egsa Buyuk (TUR, 1891) and Maria Krzysztynska (POL, 1481) co-lead in the GU17 section scoring 3 points each.
