The Armenian State Pedagogical University, together with the “Chess” Scientific Research Institute and the Chess Academy of Armenia, organise the International Scientific Conference “Theory and Practice of Chess Education” from 1-2 October 2026 in Tsaghkadzor, Armenia.
The event will be held in the Hybrid format (Online and Onsite), aiming to bring together researchers, educators, and practitioners to explore the role of chess in education, cognitive development, and social-emotional learning.
The Conference will cover the following topics: Chess and Personal Development, Teaching and Learning Methods of Chess, Chess in Inclusive Education, Chess Teacher Training (in service, pre service), Chess and Digital Literacy, through the plenary sessions with invited speakers, paper presentation sessions, interactive sessions as master classes, workshops, world cafe, and round table discussions on future research directions.
The conference is intended for:
● Researchers in the fields of education and psychology;
● University lecturers and researchers;
● Chess teachers and coaches;
● Specialists in preschool, school, and inclusive education;
● Educational policymakers and representatives of educational institutions;
● Organizations and individuals involved in teacher training, as well as developers of
educational programs;
