The European Youth Team Chess Championship 2017 will be held from 16th to 24th August in Rymanów Zdrój/Poland, at the PST “Stomil” Rymanów Zdrój, which is the official venue of the tournament.
The organizers of the Championships are PST “Stomil” Rymanów Zdrój and Polish Chess Federation, under the auspices of the European Chess Union.
Each national federation member of the ECU has the right to enter unlimited number of teams of four (4) players and one (1) reserve in the open competition and unlimited number of teams of two (2) female players and one (1) reserve in the girl’s competition.
The event will be played according to the Swiss system in 7 rounds, with one Open section and one section for the Girl’s teams, considered as separate competitions. The time control will be 90 min for 40 moves + 30 min for the rest of the game + 30 sec increment for every move played starting from the first move.
The first three teams in Open and Girl’s section as well will receive trophies. Each member of the winning team (players, reserves and captain) will receive a gold medal. The members of the second and third placed teams will each receive a silver and bronze medal respectively. Additionally, all medalists receive in-kind prizes. For the best placed teams and for the individual results for the best board result, the organizer will provide medals, trophies and in-kind prizes to the value of 5.000 Euros.
The organizers will provide special evenings for all participants, such as disco with professional DJ, bonfire with roasting sausages & music, guided tour of Rymanów Zdrój, as well as several chess and sport activities, which will be organized during the festival.
The national federations are kindly requested to fill in and return the enclosed Application Forms to the organizers as soon as possible but not later than June 15th, 2017. Applications have to be sent by the national federations, only.
The completed application forms should be sent by official email to: dme@eytcc2017.pl with cc: agnieszka.fornal@gmail.com. The complete registration form must include surname/s, first name/s, FIDE ID number, FIDE rating and title, passport number of each player/captain/head of delegation. It must also include the name and telephone/email of the person in charge of the Federation. All participants (players, captains, accompanying persons, etc.) must send the photos for badges by email to: dme@eytcc2017.pl with cc: agnieszka.fornal@gmail.com.
Applications received after June 15th, 2017, may be refused the entry, or may be subject to reimbursement of extra costs incurred by the organizers.
The Organizers offer accommodation in the „Stomil” Medical Centre in Rymanów Zdrój, Świerkowa 1 situated on a hill, with deciduous and coniferous forest, a view over recreation area and the Tabor River. “Stomil” offers over than 70 types of medical treatments and specializes in 10 medical profiles.
