European Youth Chess Championship 2022 – Round 5 report

Five rounds have been already played at the 2022 European Youth Chess Championship in Antalya, Turkey.

Many sections got the emerges sole leaders, but four rounds left to be played before the announcement of the Winners.

Shogdzhiev Roman Sav (FIDE) is the sole leader of the U8 Open category scoring perfect 5/5 points, and Kokareva Sofya (FIDE) and Rzadkowska Lila (POL) tie for the first place with the same score in the Girls U8 section.

Four players tie for the first place in U10 category scoring 4.5 points: Kurt Ozgur Toprak (TUR), Celebi Mehmet Alper (TUR), Yilmaz Baver (TUR), and Gabadadze Gabriel, while two girls emerged on the top of the same age category girls sections with a maximum score of 5 points: Lampou Marianta (GRE) and Mirzaliyeva Leyla (AZE).

Five players score 4.5 points to tie for the top in the Open U12 category: Ahmad Khagan (AZE), Temirbekov Taimaz (FIDE), Bukreev Stanislav (FIDE), Karaca Yigit (TUR), and Ghazaryan Narek (ARM). Preobrazhenskaya Diana is the sole leader of Girls U12 category with the same score.

IM Gurel Ediz (TUR) is in sole lead of Open U14 section scoring perfect 5/5 points, and Kleymenova Valeria (FIDE) scores all five victories to be the sole leader in Girls U14 category.

Master Macias Pino Diego is leading the Open U16 category with 5 points, and Schippke Manon (FRA) leads the Girls U16 section with the same score.

FM Tsvetkov Andrey (FIDE), FM Popov Maksim (FIDE) and IM Gharibyan Mamikon (ARM) score 4.5 points each to tie for the first place in the Open U18 category, and WIM Hryzlova Sofiia (UKR) and WIM Mkrtchyan Mariam (ARM) tie for the top of Girls U18 section with the same score.
