The European School Chess Championship 2024 will be held from May 30 to June 8 2024 in Limerick, Ireland.
The event will be played in 6 age categories: U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17, open and girls sections separately. If any group has less than 16 entries, open and girls sections can be merged with separate prizes for the best ranked girls. Each event will be played in 9 rounds, swiss system, with the time control of 90 minutes for the whole game + 30-second increment for each move, starting from the move one.
Each ECU member federation can register an unlimited number of players that meet the age requirements of each of the 12 respective sections. All players, accompanying persons and delegation members have to register through their national federations before the deadline of 29th February, 2024.
Registrations and bookings for the European School Chess Championships 2024 are possible only through the registration links through the official website www.escc2024.ie.
Titles and prizes:
The winners and medalists will be awarded with trophies and medals. The Winner of each European School Championship category will become the European School Champion of the respective category and will earn the personal right to participate in the World School Chess Championship as the invited player. All players will receive the Certificate of Participation.
The playing venue of the tournament will be the University of Limerick EG010 Hall.

The event is organized by the Irish Chess Union under the auspices of the European Chess Union.
