European Rapid Chess Championship 2024 commenced today in Skopje, North Macedonia.
The first round of the event was inaugurated with the ceremonial move played by ECU Vice President Mr. Alojzije Jankovic on the top board game between GM Vladimir Fedoseev and Mitar Djukanovic.
The Opening ceremony of the European Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships 2024 took place yesterday evening with the attendance of the ECU Vice President Mr. Alojzije Jankovic who officially declared the event opened. With the presence of the representatives of the Chess Federation of North Macedonia and distinguished guests, the ceremony was followed by a cocktail party and the Technical meeting for the players.
Six rounds of the European Rapid Chess Championship 2024 are on the schedule today, and the first rounds saw upsets on the top boards. As many as 36 players tie for the top scoring perfect score of 3/3 points after three played rounds, and live games can be followed through the ECU TV platform.
