European Individual Chess Championship 2025 starts in Eforie Nord

The European Individual Chess Championship 2025 was officially declared opened yesterday evening in Eforie Nord, Romania!

The Opening ceremony of the event took place in the playing venue of the event with the attendance by the Vice President of the Romanian Chess Federation Mr. Alin Berescu, Secretary General of the Romanian Chess Federation Mr. Gabriel Grecescu, and ECU Tournament Director Mr. Petr Pisk who addressed the distinguished guests.

The Technical meeting of the Championship was held this morning with the start at 10:00 (local time). The meeting started with Mr. Gabrieal Grecescu addressing the officials, players and guests in the presence of ECU Tournament Director Mr. Peter Pisk. The Chief Arbiter IA Ivan Syrovy and IA Stephane Escafre (Fair-Play Officer) explain the regulations and answer players’ questions.

The first round starts at 15:00 (local time) and live games with live video broadcast and commentaries by GM Alojzije Jankovic and WIM Lena Govedarica can be followed through the ECU TV Platform or the ECU YouTube channel.
