EU Youth Chess Championship 2025 is underway. The level of the event is very good – in category U8 is leading Lev Jevglevski (EST, 5 points out of 5 rounds!), in U10 with also 5 points Simon Perouin (FRA), in U12 Alexandru–Daniel Pasca (ROU, 4,5 points) and in U14 FM Vlad Petroff (ROU, 4 points).
Since beautiful and combative games are seen, the organizers award best games in each category with prize every day. After the first five rounds Wojciech Szlendak (POL), Simon Perouin (FRA), Ivan Menkov (CZE), Simon Matejka (SVK), Nicholas Josephides (CYP), Stefan Grigorescu (ROU), Nikodem Cieslar (POL), Boris Pogorelskiy (CZE), David–Christian Talaba (ROU), Thomas Lobina (FRA), Iris Hamernikova (CZE), Edward Bundan (GER), Romeo Brentegani (FRA), Pavel Hlavacek (CZE), Lukas Janovicek (SVK), Andrii Diachek (POL), Romero Antonio Landeros (CZE), Matelo Vinet (FRA), Stella Maesepp (EST) and Tobias Komarek (CZE) have been awarded.

Additional programme started on Thursday, August 21st, with the simultaneous game against FM Josef Kratochvil. 18 participants of our championship had 30 minutes against 60 minutes on the clocks of FM Kratochvil. Lack of time was decisive for the result, which was in the end surprisingly 11-7 in favor of the children! Won Aleksandra Karcz, Olga Debowska, Wojciech Selendak, Bartlomiej Karcz (all POL), Pavel Hroch, Mariana Flidrova (both CZE), Alexandru-Daniel Pasca (ROU), Krisjanis Lazars (LAT), Michal Stoklasa st. (SVK) and the draw was made by Rubin Kostov, Andrej Sutarik (both SVK), Anna Hrckova (CZE) and Ernest Strekalovs (LAT).

On Saturday, August 23rd, there was a blitz tournament, where 12 players (players of EUYCC, coaches, parents) from 4 countries participated. The winner became FM Josef Kratochvil (CZE, 10 points out of 11 rounds) ahead of Olga Debowska (POL, 9,5 points) and Anna Hrckova (CZE, 9 points). All winners received nice presents.
Among others leisure time activities, participants of this tournament mostly visit and use wellness, playground and enjoying the beauty of the nature in surroundings.
All games are transmitted on-line, so the parents and trainers either at home or present in the hotel can watch their charges.
