England wins triple gold at European Senior Team Chess Championship 2025

The European Senior Team Chess Championship 2025 concluded yesterday in Swidnica, Poland. The event was played in two age categories: 50+ and 65+ and England teams repeated the success from last year, defending three titles!

Nine teams competed in the 65+ category, with England 1 team scoring perfect 16 match points to clinch gold! England 1 showed dominance winning all the matches with a minimum result of 3-1!

Poland’s Lower Silesia Team won silver medal with the score of 12 match points.

And German Saxony Team claimed bronze with 11 match points.

Eight teams in the 50+ section played seven rounds, and then another two rounds in the final-four mini tournament. England 1 won the Championship with the final score of 17 match points, taking victories in 8 matches, and a draw in the final one against Germany.

Germany came second with 13 match points.

And England 2 claimed bronze scoring 12 match points.

England’s Women’s 50+ Team clinched the tile of the European Women’s Senior 50+ Team Chess Champions 2025 as the best-ranked women team in the competition.

The best players per boards were determined according to the performance, and received medals in both sections.
