By decision of the ECU Board and with approval from the FIDE Council, the ECU General Assembly 2026 and elections will take place on Saturday, 18 July 2026, in Bucharest, Romania.
The elections are scheduled in accordance with the ECU statutes and the completion of the current term of the ECU Board on 22 July 2026.
The ECU General Assembly will be hosted at the premises of the Romanian Olympic Committee, emphasising the European Chess Union’s strong commitment to the Olympic family and its strategic goal of including chess in the Olympic Games.
