ECU CIRCULAR LETTER NO.2/2017

Dear Chess Friends,

In continuation to the invitations, which were sent out by the previous Circular Letter, please find attached the invitations and official regulations for the following championships:

  • The invitation for the European Youth Chess Championship 2017, 4-15 September in Mamaia, Romania is published and you can find it attached in annex_1.
  • The invitation for the European Open & Women Chess Club Cup 2017, 7-15 October in Antalya, Turkey is published and you can find it attached in annex_2.
  • The invitation for the European Team Chess Championship 2017, 27 October- 7 November in Crete, Greece is published and you can find it attached in annex_3.

The European Individual Chess Championship 2018 will take place from 4th (arrival) to 17th (departure) March in Batumi, Georgia.

The European Women’s Chess Championship 2018 will take place from 4th (arrival) to 17th (departure) April in Vysoké Tatry, Slovakia.

On April 28th 2017 at 4 PM CET, the deadline for sending bids for the organization of the European Championships elapsed. You can find and download all the bids received in the following link: https://www.europechess.org/events/bidding-procedure/bids-2019/

No bids were received for the following Championships:

European Individual Chess Championship 2019
European Women’s Rapid & Blitz Championship 2019

The deadline for bids for the above European Championships is extended till Monday 19th June 2017 by 4 PM CET. All the bids must reach the European Chess Union office until the deadline in one of the following ways:

a) By e-mail ecuoffice2014@gmail.com b) Personally, in a sealed envelope, in the ECU office in Tbilisi. c) By postal service or express postal service (DHL, Fedex, TNT…) to the address:

The annual ECU General Assembly 2017 will take place on Saurday 4th November 2017 at 9:30 am in the Creta Maris Hotel, Hersonisos-Crete, Greece during the 2nd ECU Congress. ECU President Zurab Azmaiparashvili invites all European National Chess Federations to attend the meeting. Proposals from Members to be included in the agenda for the General Assembly shall reach ECU Secretariat not later than three months (deadline Friday 4th August, 2017) before the start of the General Assembly.
