European Individual Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship 2019 opens tomorrow in Tallinn, Estonia, and will be played from 5th-8th December.
The event srarts with the Rapid Championship, which gathered 469 players from 33 European federations. The Opening ceremony of the event is tomorrow at 11:00 (local time), 8 rounds are scheduled for the first day, while the rest 5 rounds will be played on 6th December.
The European Individual Rapid Chess Championship will be played in the Swiss system, 13 rounds, with the time control 15 minutes + 10 seconds per move increment starting from the first move, with a total prize fund of 20.000 EUR.
Strong line-up of the Championship is led by: Sargissian Gabriel (ARM, 2716), Guseinov Gadir (AZE, 2705), Motylev Alexander (RUS, 2670), Ponkratov Pavel (RUS, 2669) and Mamedov Rauf (AZE, 2661).
European Individual Blitz Chess Championship 2019 starts on Saturday, 7th December, with the participation of 462 players from 33 federations.
The event will be played in the Swiss system, 11 double rounds, with the time control 3 minutes + 2 seconds per move increment starting from the first move, with a total prize fund 10.100 EUR.
Top seeds of Blitz Championship are: Andriasian Zaven (ARM, 2766), Sargissian Gabriel (ARM, 2676), Ponkratov Pavel (RUS, 2650), Postny Evgeny (ISR, 2644) and Demidov Mikhail (RUS, 2637).
