European Individual Chess Championship 2019 will be officially declared opened tomorrow, during the Opening Ceremony which will take place at the official hotel and playing venue of the Championship, Hotel “Double Tree” by Hilton.
The Opening ceremony will start at 19.00 (local time) while the first round of the event, which takes place from 17th-30th March in Skopje, FYR of Macedonia, will start on Monday, 18th of March at 15.00 (local time).
For the throne of the most prestigious event in the ECU calendar will fight 363 players coming from 43 European federations. A very strong line-up of the event is completed with 305 titled players, among whom 144 Grandmasters and 79 International masters, including 6 players rated over 2700 and 67 players rated over 2600.
Top seeders of the Championship are: Artemiev Vladislav (RUS, 2736), Tomashevsky Evgeny (RUS, 2705), Dubov Daniil (RUS, 2703), Kovalev Vladislav (BLR, 2703), Saric Ivan (CRO, 2703), Mamedov Rauf (AZE, 2701), Vallejo Pons Francisco (ESP, 2698), Ragger Markus (AUT, 2696), Grandelius Nils (SWE, 2694), Korobov Anton (UKR, 2686) and others top wellkown Grandmasters.
