"Chess is a meritocracy"




Gen. Kazimierz Sosnkowski Chess Foundation, in co-operation with the Polish Chess Federation and under the auspices of the President of Warsaw Ms Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz organizes Miguel Najdorf International Chess Festival 2015, which will take place in Warsaw/Poland, 10-18 July, 2015.

The event consists of 4 tournaments:

A – Open for players with Elo >= 2200;

B – Open for players with Elo 1600-2199;

C – Open for players with Elo < 1600; and

D – Tournament of chess prodigies (born 2005 and later).

The tournament will be held in the Warsaw Sports and Recreation Centre (http://www.osir-polna.pl/).

The total prize fund of the festival is 30.000 EUR.

A Tournament: prize fund 20.950 EUR;

B Tournament: prize fund 5900 EUR;

C Tournament: prize fund 2750 EUR; and

D Tournament: prize fund 400 EUR.

The participants should register on the website http://www.poloniachess.pl/najdorf2015/ not later than 20 June, 2015 or submitt an application with the following data: name, surname, country, birthdate, FIDE rating – to the e-mail address metlifenajdorf@gmail.com not later than 20 June, 2015.

The tournament Director is Maria Macieja and the Chief Arbiter will be FIDE Arbiter Paweł Suwarski.
