EUROPEAN OPEN & YOUTH RAPID AND BLITZ CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2019

European Youth Rapid&Blitz Chess Championship 2019 will take place from 30th November-4th December, and European Rapid&Blitz Open Chess Championship 2019  starts immediately after, from 4th-8th December.

Both events will take place in 4 stars Hotel Sokos Viru, in city of Tallinn.

The European Individual Rapid Chess Championship will be played in the Swiss system, 13 rounds, with the time control 15 minutes + 10 seconds per move increment starting from the first move. The European Individual Blitz Chess Championship will be played in the Swiss system, 11 double rounds, with the time control 3 minutes + 2 seconds per move increment starting from the first move.

The Championships are open to all players representing Chess Federations which are ECU members , regardless of their title and rating. There is no limit to the number of participants per federation.

The registration deadline is 31st of October 2019.

Entry fee for rapid tournament is 35 EUR, for unrated players 40 EUR, while the entry fee for the blitz tournament will be 25 EUR and for unrated players 30 EUR. Special discount will be provided for players participating both tournaments: 50 EUR for rated players and 60 EUR for unrated players.

The total prize fund of the events will be 30.100 EUR, with 20.000 EUR for the Rapid Championship and 10.100 EUR for the Blitz Championship.

The 19th European Youth Rapid & Blitz U-8,10,12,14,16,18 Championship will be played in 5 different events: European Youth Rapid Chess Championship, European Youth Blitz Chess Championship, European Youth Team Championship, Euopean Youth Championship in Solving Problems and European Rapid Cup-Rapid Super final.

The European Youth Rapid Chess Championship will be played in six categories: U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18, separately for boys and girls. It will be played in the Swiss system, 9 rounds, with the time control 15 minutes + 10 seconds per move increment starting from the first move.

 The European Youth Blitz Chess Championship will be played in three categories: U10, U14 and U18, separately for boys and girls. It will be played in the Swiss system, 9 rounds, with the time control 3 minutes + 2 seconds per move increment starting from the first move.

The European Youth Team Championship will be played in three categories: U10, U14 and U18. Teams are composed of 4 players of the same federation. 7 rounds played according to the Swiss System, 10 minutes + 5 seconds per move increment starting from the first move

The European Youth Championship in Solving Chess Problems will be conducted in three age categories: U10, U14 and U18.

The European Rapid Cup – Rapid Super final will be played in two categories, boys and girls. The best players in each category of European Youth Rapid Chess Championships 2019 may enter the Rapid Super Final (Three best players in each of the categories – 14, 16 and 18, two best players in each of the categories – 8, 10, 12, as well as the representative of the organizer). These players (altogether 16) – separate boys and girls, will play matches in 4 rounds (knock-out system) according to special regulations.

Entry fee for the Rapid tournament is 30 EUR, fee for the Blitz tournament is 15 EUR and for the Team Championship is 60 EUR.

The total prize fund for all events is 13 700€ in goods, and 1 300€ in money prizes.

–  The European Youth Rapid Chess Championship winners in each category will be awarded tablet computers.

– Three best players in each category will win cups and medals.

– Five best players will be also awarded prizes in different items in goods.

– The European Youth Blitz Chess Championship winners in each category will be awarded tablet computers.

– Three best players in each category will win cups and medals.

– Five best players will be also awarded prizes in different items in goods.

– The European Youth Team Championship three best teams in each category will win cups and medals and will be awarded different prizes in goods.

– The European Youth Championship in Solving Chess Problems three best solvers in each category will win cups and medals and will be awarded different prizes in goods.

– The Super Final – prize money: 1. = 300€, 2. = 200€ 3. = 100€ 4. = 50€
